Mr Stephen Mear - Choreographer

It is a great honour to take the role of patron of the United Teachers of Dance. As somebody who undertook my formal dance training at a UTD school, my success within the area of dance and choreography is testament to the abilities of the Association and its member schools.

My dancing career started, as a youngster, at the Joan Neal Dance Academy where I undertook training using the UTD method. Working all the way through to the Major Syllabi, the work was challenging and stimulating but above all fun. This is perhaps one of the major differences of the UTD method.

I was fortunate enough within my career to develop into a successful choreographer, and looking back I wouldn't change anything. I would like to thank the UTD for the wonderful start and happy years that you gave me.

I look forward to many years of productive association with the Association to enable me to help other youngsters have the chance to achieve their goals.
