GQAL PROGRAMMES OF STUDY NOW AVAILABLE!

 

We can finally announce that the GQAL Programmes of Study for Ballet Grades One to Five are now available to purchase! We are so excited to be able to offer our teachers this work as it has been a long time coming but we are finally seeing the light at the end of tunnel.

Although full completion of the Programmes of Study is still very much a work in progress, Ballet Grades Six to Eight will be available very soon, along with Tap Grades One to Five and Modern Grades One to Five!

 

Members you MUST have your Centre of Aprroval Application Forms submitted to us at Head Office in order to be able to purchase the GQAL Programmes of Study so please contact Gemma direct on utdexaminations@outlook.com for further information or assistance.

 

This is such an exciting time for us as an association and we hope to share this work with as many of you as possible, we hope to arrange some GQAL Masterclasses in the near future to showcase to you all how lovely this work is!

 

                         New for our Members - Dance Teaching Qualifications

                                  The Awards are offered at Three Levels                  

  • Certificate for Dance Teaching Assistant which sits at Level 3 of the RQF
  • Certificate in Dance Teaching which sits at Level 4 of the RQF
  • Diploma in Dance Teaching and Management which sits at Level 5 of the RQF

 

UTD SELF-REGULATED SYLLABUS UPDATES

 

So, as we start to get back into the swing of things we need to tell you about some exciting updates that you will now see being implemented into UTD Syllabus and Marking systems.

  • UTD will now refer to our own (non-GQAL) work as SELF-REGULATED
  • Introduction of PASS+ to Primary Grade system for all genres is already in place.
  • Level 2 Ballet 'The Birthday Party Dance' - up to age 11yrs MUST still perform this dance in an examination session. Age 12yrs upwards, teacher can select own music HOWEVER the dance MUST remain demi character.
  • Level 3 Ballet 'The Hornpipe' will NO LONGER be danced. This will be replaced by teachers own choreographed piece to own choice of music but MUST include steps from Level 3.
  • Level 5 Ballet 'The Highland Fling' will NO LONGER be danced. This will be replaced by teachers own choreographed piece to own choice of music but MUST include an adage and allegro section.
  • Ballet Theory (Primary - Level 6) will be COMPULSORY for all candidates in an examination as per the UTD Ballet Theory Book now available direct from Head Office.

*******ALL BALLET UPDATES WILL BE PUT INTO PRACTISE  FROM 1st SEPTEMBER 2021, THERE WILL BE A 12 MONTH OVERLAP PERIOD & OLD WORK AS LISTED ABOVE WILL BE OBSOLETE BY 1st SEPTEMBER 2022*********

 

  • Performance Award Criteria has now been updated and is available direct from Head Office. This will commence from 1st January 2022.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

 

New crit sheets MUST be used for ALL examination sessions. They MUST be printed double sided in order to be accepted by Head Office.

 

New and updated crit sheets can be found in the Members section on this website.

 

Please refer to the new/updated price lists for Syllabus and Examinations that was sent to ALL principals earlier this year.

 

Please note the changes to the marking systems now in place for Musical Theatre, Street and Performance Awards. This has been done to maintain continuity with all other genres.
